Christmas is many months away but Liberian singer, DenG is already in a giving mood ! In his quest to continue his message of peace and charity, the MTV-Africa nominee & 3-times LEA recipient recently paid a surprise visit to the GW Gibson High School on Capitol Bypass where he gave away two complete sets of jerseys, five soccer balls and awarded three scholarships.
How he picked out the school is yet unclear but it does seem like he clearly surprised the students who jammed the auditorium in the hundreds to take a glance of the superstar.
“As a student in Liberia, there are many odds stack against you but you must understand the objectives of your being here. In some way, you are responsible for your own motivation,” DenG admonished the students.
According to him, women attending schools in developing poor countries face a huge gap when it comes to gender inequality and domestic abuse. He called on government to do more awareness programs and admonished the female students to focus on their lessons and avoid getting pregnant.
Pointing to a cross section of boys standing in the front role, the artist said: “You! You must treat these girls with respect because women are our mothers.” He warned.
As you may recall weeks ago, the singer alongside his record label — AEMG — took his message of empowerment, peace & hope up Ducor when he met with hundreds of slums dwellers and launched the ‘DenG Youth Empowerment’ foundation. During that event, he was seen dishing out warm meals to his guests.
Either way though this is just a very cool gesture by the artist and should provide some inspiration for the students. His latest gesture shows that he is not over his humanitarian service.
AE was told that DenG will be making another surprise humanitarian-visit at an unnamed institution in the coming weeks.
