Nigerian music icon D’banj has fueled anticipation for a potential reunion with his former Mo’Hits Records partner, Don Jazzy, stating, “There’s no other better time than now.” This comes after years of fan requests for the duo to collaborate again since their split in 2012, which led to the dissolution of Mo’Hits and Don Jazzy’s subsequent launch of Mavin Records.
In a recent interview with Punch Newspaper’s Saturday Beats, the “Coco Master” D’banj confirmed his continued positive relationship with Don Jazzy. When asked about a potential collaboration, he revealed, “The trailer of my album last year had Don Jazzy in it. We know that the people want that (us to work together), and we know we are going to give the people that. But it is important to do it at the right time. And there’s no other better time than now. You are going to see a lot, not just from Nigeria but globally. And it’s not just about Mo’hits reunion, but celebrating afrobeats as well.”

Beyond the reunion tease, D’banj also discussed his CREAM platform, highlighting the recent signings of comedian/singer Nasboi and Berri Tiga as ambassadors. He emphasized that these signings align with CREAM’s mission of empowering aspiring artists. “Nasboi, he’s a typical example of what the platform stands for,” D’banj explained, noting his journey from struggling musician to successful comedian and back to music. “That’s what The CREAM platform stands for. You can come to the platform, mingle within the community, harness your talents and discover yourself.” He also cited Berri Tiga as a “product of the platform,” showcasing CREAM’s ability to nurture talent.
Looking ahead, D’banj announced plans for a deluxe version of his 2024 album and hinted at remixes of his older songs, potentially featuring talents discovered through the CREAM platform.
