As Africa’s most populated country sets to hold another democratic election, some of the country’s entertainers have taken to their social media platforms to create the required buzz with the aim of urging young Nigerians to get their permanent voter’s card ahead of the February scheduled elections.
One of the addition to the list which boasts of the likes of 2Baba, Banky W, Timi Dakolo is Nigeria’s most talked about musician (at the moment at least); Davido.
The singer took to his Twitter to commit to using his platform to encourage Nigerian youths to go all out and get their PVCs following the request of the Governor of Gombe State.
In the currently trending Tweet, The Governor implored Davido to let his platform be used as a campaign medium to involve more Nigerian youths in the forthcoming elections. In his words:
Hello @iam_Davido. My name is Ibrahim Dankwambo, Governor of Gombe state. I’m a huge fan of your amazing work and talent. I’d be glad if you can use your massive influence to work together with me in convincing our young people to go get their #PVC. Do I have your assurance?
Of which Davido promptly responded:
Anything to serve my Country and my People Sir ??? https://t.co/wzZKAJPOa9

This certainly looks like a good strategy to get young people actively involved in the electoral process.
