With the release of Spotify Wrapped on Wednesday (Dec. 4), music fans promptly took to social media to share their listening habits throughout the year, including their favorite songs, albums and artists.
American singer- songwriter Camila Cabello joined the bandwagon on Thursday (Dec. 5), taking to her Instagram Stories to reveal her Spotify Wrapped and it had some interesting discoveries.
To our surprise, Camila’s top 5 most streamed songs were all afrobeats, with Crayon’s “Ijo (Laba Laba) leading the pack, followed by Maleek Berry’s “Kontrol”, and “Charm” by Rema; an indicator that the famous pop star has been such an afrobeats “girlie”.
The former Fifth Harmony member confessed it herself in her caption on Instagram stories where she posted her Spotify Wrapped; writing: “she wanna hear some Afrobeats”.

Camila is no stranger to interacting the genre for she herself appeared on the remix to Oxlade’s 2022 hit song KU LO SA. Perhaps more collaborations with African artists are the pipeline. Only time will tell.
