Following this grand kickoff, Burna Boy will ignite stages across North America, with stops in notable cities like Houston, Chicago, Toronto, and more, culminating in a spectacular finale at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on March 9.
In July, Burna Boy etched his name in the annals of history by headlining a sold-out show at New York City’s Citi Field, an achievement that made him the first Nigerian artist to headline a U.S. stadium. The event drew a colossal crowd of over 40,000 enthusiastic fans, including prominent figures such as Busta Rhymes, SZA, Mo Bamba, Larry Ogunjobi, and British rapper Dave, who joined him on stage for their chart-topping hit, “Location.”
This is not Burna Boy’s first encounter with making history. He previously became the first African artist to headline a stadium in the United Kingdom and achieved a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden, another groundbreaking feat for a Nigerian artist.
Burna Boy’s album, “I TOLD THEM…,” made an extraordinary debut by claiming the #1 spot on the U.K. Albums chart, establishing him as the first international African artist to attain this accolade. The album also dominated the #1 position in 55 countries on Apple Music. His chart-topping single, “Talibans II,” earned a place on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100, while “Sittin On Top Of The World,” featuring 21 Savage, dominated the Rhythmic radio charts. To add to his accolades, Burna Boy boasts an impressive seven nominations at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards.
