Burna Boy and Black Sherif
A number of top African artists have received nominations for the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Ghana’s music sensation, Black Sherif, Nigeria’s afrobeats superstars, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Tems have all been nominated for the Best African Act 2022.
Other Best African Act Nominees 2022 are South Africa’s Mnike and Zuchu.
The nominations come in the wake of the release of Black Sherif’s debut studio album “The Villain I Never Was.”
The MTV Europe Music Awards 2022 is expected to take place at the multi-functional indoor arena PSD Bank Dome in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The Awards will broadcast live on MTV in over 170 countries on November 13 and will be available on Paramount+ and Pluto TV worldwide November 14.
The 2022 edition of the Awards will mark the sixth time Germany is hosting the coveted musical event.
Burna Boy, the ‘Last Last’ hitmaker, Tems, the ‘Essence’ crooner, Black Sherif, the ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ singer, Ayra Starr, the ‘Lonely’ singer Mnike and Zuchu will have to battle for the Best African Act award.
