Acclaimed actress Bukky Wright has revealed that her extended break from acting was primarily driven by her commitment to her children’s well-being. In a recent conversation with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV, Wright elaborated on her decision to step away from her career to care for her children overseas.

Wright emphasized the significance of her presence during pivotal moments in her children’s development, highlighting the distinctive role that mothers fulfill in their children’s lives. “You don’t want to leave your children with anybody abroad, especially at a certain age,” she said.

The actress also addressed the sacrifices that mothers often endure, including navigating difficult circumstances. “Mothers will always be mothers,” she stated. “I’m not faulting any man for being a father, but in Yoruba land, we’d say ‘Iya ni iya mi, Baba ni baba gbobo aye’ – my mother is my mother, but a father can be a father to many.”

Wright assured her supporters that she has returned to the industry, enthusiastic about embracing new projects and opportunities. “I decided to diversify into something else for a bit, but I’m back,” she said. “I haven’t fallen out of love with acting, and I haven’t done it all. There are still lots of things I’m looking forward to doing.”

With her return to the spotlight, fans can expect to see Wright take on new and exciting roles, bringing her unique talent and experience to the screen once again.
