The renowned music composer has been laid to rest in Versova cemetery in Mumbai on Monday, 1 June 2020.
According to local reports, Wajid Khan was admitted to Chembur’s Surana Hospital a few days ago after testing positive for the virus amid battling kidney disease. He reportedly died on Monday from a cardiac arrest.
Speaking on Khan’s death, Salim Merchant, a Bollywood composer, revealed in a statement that the deceased composer had undergone a kidney transplant before recently testing positive for the novel virus.
“He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical,” said Merchant.
Khan is famous for his compositions on Salman Khan‘s movies such as Wanted, the Dabangg franchise and Ek Tha Tiger.
