Barcelona are reportedly holding back on signing Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid.
This is giving English clubs, Manchester United and Manchester City now a free run for bringing in Atletico Madrid’s player, to their respective fold.
According to Mirror, Barcelona held first option on the player after agreeing a £15m deal with Atletico in October, but have decided against making a move this summer, leaving the path clear for other clubs.
Barcelona transfer decision hands Man Utd and Man City advantage in Saul Niguez pursuit, report says.
Niguez, a midfielder, has been linked with a transfer this summer following his impressive displays in La Liga and the Champions League.
United and City are keen admirers and are both rumoured to be weighing up a move, with Atleti demanding around £150million for the 25-year-old, according to reports.
