Genevieve Nnaji was born on May 3rd 1979 in Mbaise Imo State Nigeria but raised up In Lagos. She is the fourth born in the family of eight. Her father is an engineer and the mother a nursery school teacher. She joined Methodist Girls College Yaba Lagos but later transferred to University of Lagos where she begun auditioning for several acting jobs.
Nnaji was introduced to Nollywood film industry at the age of 19 and her debut movie was Most Wanted. Thereafter, Nnaji has made appearance in more than 80 Nigerian movies such as sacred lies critical conditions among others hence being termed as one of the best actress in the Nollywood. She also sings and has a debut album, One Logo logo Line which is basically of R&B, hip hop and urban music genres. Being a model, Nnaji has appeared in the Pronto beverage and omo detergent commercials. She also has a clothing line, St. Genevieve which donates to charity. She was appointed the official Face of MUD in Nigeria in May 2010.
Genevieve has won several awards and nominations globally. The awards include City people awards and African movie academy awards in 2005.
