Apple Music’s Replay is LIVE Now. Here’s how to check yours

Now that the year is nearing an end, it’s that time of the year when music streaming services share insights into how the listeners’ music streaming habits have been; highlighting the top artist, songs, most streamed albums etc.

The case isn’t any different for Apple Music who yesterday unveiled their highly anticipated Replay 2024 experience with brand-new insights and features, now available within the Apple Music app. Artists can now also post and share their year-end insights, with Replay now available to them in Apple Music for Artists.

Apple Music also revealed its 2024 Year-End charts, spotlighting the biggest songs of the year by Apple Music streams, Shazam tags, radio spins, read lyrics and more. Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” takes top-streamed song on Apple Music globally, Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” is the most identified song on Shazam this year, and Dua Lipa’s “Houdini” is the most spun song on radio around the world.

Replay 2024: Personal Insights for Listeners

Starting now, Apple Music subscribers can dive into their 2024 listening trends. Replay offers a detailed recap, showcasing the top songs, albums, and artists that defined their year. Key features include:

  • Top Listener Rankings: Users can see if they ranked in the top 100, 500, or 1,000 listeners for their favorite artists or genres.
  • Listening Streaks: Insights into the longest streaks of consecutive listening days.
  • Replay by Month: Monthly breakdowns highlight the top songs, artists, and albums of each month in 2024.
  • Top Artist Streak: Identify if one artist dominated your playlist for multiple months.
  • First Play Dates: Find out when you first played your top song, album, or artist.

Subscribers can access their Replay experience on iOS 18.1 or later directly in the Apple Music app, while users with older iOS versions can visit replay.music.apple.com. All insights are optimized for easy sharing across social media or messaging platforms.

Replay for Artists: A New Milestone

For the first time, artists can access their Replay insights through the Apple Music for Artists dashboard. These include:

  • Total Minutes: The cumulative time fans spent listening to their music.
  • Total Listeners: A count of unique listeners throughout the year.
  • Top Cities: A list of cities where their music resonated the most.
  • Top Shazam: The song most frequently identified on Shazam.

Artists can download and share their insights as videos or still images, helping them celebrate their milestones with fans.

2024 Year-End Charts: The Biggest Hits of the Year

Apple Music also revealed its 2024 Year-End Charts, which include top songs based on streams, Shazam tags, radio spins, and more. Key highlights include:

  • Top Global Song: Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” claimed the title of the most-streamed song worldwide.
  • Shazam Leader: Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” was the most-identified song on Shazam.
  • Radio Spin Champion: Dua Lipa’s “Houdini” dominated global airwaves as the most played song on radio.

Across Africa, “Imithandazo” by Kabza De Small & Mthunzi led in South Africa, while Seyi Vibez’s “Different Pattern” took the top spot in Nigeria.

Celebrating Women and Global Diversity in Music

This year marked a record-breaking presence for women on the global charts, with 39 songs by or featuring female artists making the list. Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” secured the No. 3 spot as the top-ranking track by a female artist. Taylor Swift also made a significant impact with seven songs on the charts.

Global genres flourished in 2024, with Japanese duo Creepy Nuts leading both the Most-Read Lyrics and Sing Charts with “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born.” Additionally, the year saw a rise in non-English songs, with 28 making the most-played list on the Sing feature.

Apple Music Features: Personalized and Collaborative

Replay 2024 caps off a year of innovations on Apple Music, including:

  • Collaborative Playlists: Share playlist creation with friends and react to songs using emojis.
  • Discovery Station: A personalized radio station that introduces users to new music based on their evolving tastes.
  • Heavy Rotation Mix: A daily-updating mix featuring songs listeners play on repeat.
  • Apple Music Sing: Interactive singing features with real-time lyrics and adjustable vocals.
