Angola discovers rare diamond in 300 years

Angola has discovered a rare, pure pink diamond believed to be the largest rough diamond in the world.

The diamond is believed to be largest of its kind in 300 years.

The Australian miners named the 170-carat stone The Lulo Rose.

According to the miners, the diamond will be sold at international tender by the Angolan state diamond marketing company.

The Angolan Government has welcomed the find of the diamond in the Lulo alluvial mine.

Minerals Resources Minister Diamantino Azevedo has been quoted as saying “This record and spectacular pink diamond recovered from Lulo continues to showcase Angola as an important player on the world stage for diamond mining.”
