President Nana Akufo-Addo has finally revoked the appointment of Sarah Adwoa Safo, as Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
A statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin, made this known.
The statement dated July 28, 2022, said the revocation of the Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament’s appointment was in accordance with article 81 (8) of the Constitution.
According to the statement sighted by www.africanentertainment.com, “The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, will continue to act as Caretaker Minister for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, until such a time that President Akufo-Addo Appoints a substantive Minister.”
Madam Safo’s dismissal comes days after she took to Facebook to share photos of herself flying first class and enjoying expensive meals. She has been away from official duty for months, living good life in the USA.
She captioned her photos on Facebook: “You prepare a table before me, in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over.” Psalm 23:5″.
Her post infuriated many Ghanaians who felt that she was being insensitive considering the country was facing economic hardship and it was not time for a minister like her to showing to the suffering Ghanaians that she was enjoying life.
