Nigerian stand-up comedian Bovi Ugboma has expressed his strong disapproval of beating children as a way of correction. In a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch‘ podcast, Bovi emphasized that children do not deserve to be beaten, regardless of their offense.
Bovi questioned the effectiveness of physical punishment as a means of correction, asking, “When you hit a kid, are you really trying to correct them or are you frustrated?” He advocated for a more compassionate approach to discipline, urging parents and caregivers to consider alternative methods of correction.
The comedian also criticized the practice of senior students punishing junior colleagues in primary and secondary schools. He declared, “No child should be given authority over another child in the name of ‘senior student’. It really has to stop.
