Tyla has brought the holidays earlier for her Tygers (fans) by serving up the official music video for her latest song, “Shake Ah.”
This track is one of three new songs added to the deluxe edition of her debut album, TYLA, and features South African stars Tony Duardo, EZ Maestro, and Optimist.
The crisp colorful music video is set in the lively streets of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where Tyla shines as the star of a fun dance party alongside her friends and collaborator, Optimist. “Shake Ah” follows the release of the video for her hit song “Push 2 Start,” which has already reached 11 million views on YouTube.
2024 has been a big year for Tyla to say the least. From bagging a GRAMMY for “Best African Music Performance” to achieving historic success on the charts. For instance, her hit single song “Water” made history by staying #1 on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart for an entire year. Tyla also wowed fans with standout performances at events like the MTV EMAs, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and received eight 2024 Billboard Music Award nominations.
Throughout the year, Tyla has earned recognition from top awards shows, including the BET Awards, MTV VMAs, and South African Music Awards, highlighting her global impact.
To close the year, Tyla will perform several exciting shows in her home country, South Africa. These include shows on December 4 in Johannesburg with COKE STUDIO, December 5 in Cape Town, and December 7 in Pretoria.
Looking ahead to 2025, Tyla will be performing at the iconic Coachella Music Festival. She’s also teamed up with Stanley to release her own limited-edition Tyla Tyger Quencher cup.
