Lil Wayne Unveils Star-Studded Guest List for ‘Tha Carter VI’ Album

Lil Wayne is gearing up for a blockbuster return with the upcoming release of Tha Carter VI, officially dropping on June 6.

While In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the hip-hop icon revealed a lineup of unexpected and high-profile collaborators set to appear on the highly anticipated project.

Among the notable names featured on the album are Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, Andrea Bocelli, Wyclef Jean, Elephant Man, Machine Gun Kelly, Bono, Wheezy (the producer, not to be confused with Wayne himself), and even his teenage son, Kameron Carter. The diverse feature list reflects Lil Wayne’s ambitious creative direction for Tha Carter VI.

“If there’s one thing about this album that’s different,” Wayne said, “it’s me approaching it like, ‘Man, what would I sound like on something with such and such?’” The experimental spirit of the album sees Wayne pushing beyond traditional hip-hop boundaries, dipping into genres like reggae, opera, and pop—hinted at by features like Elephant Man and Bocelli.

Wayne and Wyclef Jean’s collaboration is already generating buzz. Jean, who rose to fame as part of the Fugees, spoke enthusiastically about their studio chemistry:
“Leaving Wyclef Jean and Lil Wayne in a studio for 24 hours is a dangerous thing,” he told Rolling Stone. “You don’t know what’s going to pop out.”

Wayne agreed, adding:
“You going to probably do like eight songs with Wyclef because he’s going to keep flipping what you did on one and make a whole new song out of that s**t.”

The album’s announcement comes on the heels of speculation about Lil Wayne’s absence from the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. When asked about it, Wayne clarified that there’s no bad blood between him and Kendrick Lamar, who performed at the event. In fact, he gave Lamar his blessing and support ahead of the show. Similarly, he dismissed any rumors of tension with Jay-Z, who is a key figure in coordinating the NFL’s halftime performances through his Roc Nation deal.

Still, Wayne admitted he’s lost interest in performing on the Super Bowl stage altogether.
“They stole that feeling. I don’t want to do it… It was perfect,” he said, referring to the emotional weight and excitement he once felt about the idea.

Tha Carter VI marks the latest installment in a critically acclaimed series that began in 2004 and has since helped define Lil Wayne’s legacy in hip-hop. With its eclectic collaborations and genre-bending ambitions, this sixth chapter is shaping up to be one of the most unique entries yet in the Carter saga.
