Fast rising Afro-soul artist FOLA, has announced he is dropping his first full length body of work later this year.
Many of us got to him following the arrival of his 6 track “what a feeling,” debut EP. Released on December 6th, 2024, the project featured appearances from BNXN, Magixx and his label boss Bella Shmurda, who signed him to Dangbana Republik having discovered him.
This project showcased his smooth vocals and emotionally resonant songwriting, often centered around themes of love, growth, and vulnerability. His musical style is made up of a unique blend of Afrobeats, soul, and contemporary R&B, a style he sometimes likes to describe as “Afro-everything”.
“alone” (which also had a popular remix featuring BNXN) gained significant traction, even topping Apple Music’s Top 100 chart in Nigeria. Now, with a growing fanbase drawn to his heartfelt lyrics and genre-bending sound, buzz and momentum, Fola has announced that dropping his debut album this year. While the album’s title, tracklist, and exact release date remain under wraps, the recent teaser of a new single online has ignited excitement.
