Nigerian singer and super star Ayra Starr is set to hit the big screens. This follows the “Sability” singer being confirmed for a lead role in the movie based on a popular book called “Children of Blood and Bone.”
The film will be about a young woman who tries to get back the magic that was stolen from her people. It’s set in a fantasy kingdom in Africa. Ayra Starr will be co- starring with A-List actors and actresses Idris Elba and Viola Davis.
It is set to drop come 2027 as produced by Lucasfilm, the makers of made Star Wars.
The feat is such a big deal for Ayra, for it further extends her multi diversity as an entertainer who is not only a singer, song writer, performer but now also an actress.
Her song “Santa” recently got a RIAA Diamond certification, having sold over 10 million copies in the US.
“Santa” blends English and Spanish as languages plus genres Afrobeats and Reggaeton. It features singers from Puerto Rico and Jamaica. It appeared on her sophomore album “The Year I Turned 21”, a follow up to her debut “Young and Dangerous.”
