“Kese,” initially released as a pre-album single, highlights Wizkid’s ability to create infectious dancefloor anthems, reminiscent of his earlier work while incorporating the refined sound he’s perfected since “Made in Lagos.” This track is part of his fourth studio album, “Morayo,” which arrived last November, solidifying his position as a leading figure in Nigerian pop.
The “Kese” video unfolds across three distinct sets. It begins on a theatrical stage, where Wizkid’s smooth dance moves are juxtaposed with the energetic choreography of a dance crew. The video then transitions to a lively dance floor, reminiscent of popular mix party shows, with a crowd surrounding the DJ. Finally, a scene resembling a high-fashion photoshoot features Wizkid surrounded by stylishly dressed women. The video concludes with a nod to Fuji music, incorporating a talking drum break into the song.
While “Kese” was initially intended to be a Detty December hit, this video marks the first visual release since “Morayo.” Despite the slight delay, the timing is perfect, as summer approaches, promising that Wizkid’s party-starting energy will continue to resonate.
