Renowned American rapper and billionaire Kanye West has made a startling revelation on social media, exposing a cryptocurrency scam that targeted his massive fan base. West claimed that he was offered a substantial sum of $2 million to promote a fake cryptocurrency, but declined, prioritizing the protection of his fans.
According to West, the scam involved posting a fake promotion on his social media account, followed by a claim that his account had been hacked. This would have potentially led to financial losses for his fans who might have fallen victim to the scam.
West took to Twitter to share his experience, stating, “I was proposed 2 million dollars to scam my community. Those left of it. I said no and stopped working with their person who proposed it.”
To substantiate his claim, West shared a screenshot outlining the plan for promoting a “fake ye currency.” The plan revealed that West would receive $750,000 upfront to advertise the cryptocurrency for 8 hours, followed by a claim that his account had been hacked. A subsequent payout of $1.25 million would be made 16 hours later.
West’s decision to expose the scam and prioritize the protection of his fans has been met with widespread appreciation and respect.
