Trevor Noah Unveiled as Host for the 67th Grammy Awards

Renowned comedian Trevor Noah is set to host the 67th Grammy Awards, marking his fifth consecutive year in this prestigious role since his debut in 2021.

The 2025 edition of the awards show is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 2, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

This year’s Grammys will see strong representation from the Nigerian music industry, with Afrobeats stars dominating the African Song Performance category. Tems leads the pack with three nominations, including Best Global Album for her debut LP Born in the Wild, Best African Song Performance, and a historic nod for Best R&B Performance for Burning.

Afrobeats sensation Rema also stands out with a nomination for Best Global Album for his sophomore project HEIS. Yemi Alade, another notable artist, earns her first Grammy nomination for Best African Song Performance. Meanwhile, Lojay is recognized for his contributions to Chris Brown’s Sensational, alongside Davido. Asake secures his second nomination for Best African Song Performance for MMS featuring Wizkid. Grammy winner Burna Boy, already a heavyweight in the industry, earns his record-breaking 10th nomination for Higher in the same category.

The 66th Grammy Awards brought disappointment for the Nigerian contingent, as South African star Tyla claimed the inaugural African Song Performance award. However, with such a strong lineup of nominees this year, Nigerian artists are poised to bring home awards, signaling a moment of celebration for the nation’s thriving music industry.
