Veteran actor Segun Arinze has set the record straight on his decision to leave the music industry, revealing that it was a voluntary choice to focus on his acting career.
In a recent episode of “Curiosity Made Me Ask” with Bae U Barbie, Arinze clarified that he didn’t abandon music due to failure, but rather to concentrate on his acting career. The actor, who studied theatre arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, explained that he deliberately chose to explore acting after trying his hand at music.”
I didn’t fail as a musical artist. I left music on my own volition. If I wanted to do music, I would have continued,” Arinze emphasized.
Interestingly, Arinze hinted at a potential comeback to the music industry, but not for commercial gain. He stated that he will return to music simply because he wants to sing, not because he wants to make money.”
I can always go back to music. I didn’t fail. I’ve got two albums. I suspended it [my music career]. When I feel it’s time, I will go back. I still sing. The voice is still there,” Arinze revealed.
It seems fans may get to see Segun Arinze return to the music scene in the future, but for now, he remains focused on his acting career.
