Music critic Daniel Regha shared his unflinching opinions on recent releases from top Nigerian artists, including Runtown, Tiwa Savage, Sarz, and Billirano. Regha’s reviews were unsparing, with none of the artists receiving a score above 3/10.
Regha’s harshest criticism was reserved for Runtown’s “Flow“, which he described as a “miss” aside from the beats. He panned the song’s chorus and second verse, calling them “poorly written“. The Escobar reference was also deemed “poorly thought“. Overall, Regha gave “Flow” a dismal 2/10.
Tiwa Savage’s “MEGA MONEY MEGA” fared slightly better, with Regha praising the song’s “dope vocals” and “nice flow”. However, he found the lyrics to be “practically mediocre“, earning the song a score of 3/10.
Sarz’s collaboration with Asake, “C’mon Look”, was also underwhelming for Regha. He described the song as sounding like a “quick DJ mix” and felt that Asake could have carried the song with his verse if he had put in more effort. The song received a score of 3/10.
Finally, Regha reviewed Billirano’s “Blessed”, featuring Zlatan. While he found the song’s beats and flow to be enjoyable, he felt that the lyrics were lacking. Regha suggested that a different theme or better lyrics would have done the song justice, earning it a score of 3/10.
