4.9 Million Confirmed Covid-19 Cases, 323,345 Deaths Worldwide


India and Brazil recorded their biggest single-day spikes in infections rates as the world confirmed covid-19 cases and deaths increase once again.

Confirmed Covid-19 Cases around the world now stand at 4,900,356.

This is according to the Johns Hopkins University.

In its latest update on the global pandemic situation as published on its official website, the University says deaths related to the virus are now 323,345.

Infected regions of countries, remain 188, it reported.

US covid-19 deaths are nearing 92,000, with UK deaths now over 35,000.

Ghana, Nigeria and other African nations continue to record new confirmed cases and deaths.

Among the 4,900,356 infected people are members of the English Premier League.

Premier League club, Watford FC reported in a statement on its official website that one of its players and two officials have tested positive for coronavirus after 48 hours of testing.

In its statement earlier published by African Entertainment, the Club did not publish the names of the player and the two officials, citing confidentially reasons.

Brazil which leads the South American infections chart, recorded 17,400 new confirmed cases in its biggest single-day spike.

Medical reports say Brazil has around 290,000 confirmed cases with about 19,000 deaths.

Russia has about 309,000 cases, with some 2900 deaths.

Liberia has recorded about 236 confirmed cases and about 24 deaths.


Nigeria has recorded additional 226 cases of coronavirus.

The country has also recorded one new death related to coronavirus.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Nigeria’s total confirmed Cases is now 6,401.

About 1,734 persons have been discharged, according to the Centre.

Its death toll now stands at 192, says the Centre.

226 new cases of #COVID19;



Ghana has so far recorded a total of 6,096 cases of coronavirus.

This is according to the Ghana Health Service.

In its latest update, the Service says cases jumped from 5,918 to 6,096.

Deaths remain 31, with recoveries increasing to 1,773.

The country’s Greater Accra Region is leading the virus chart with 4,536 cases followed by Ashanti Region with 888.

Central Region has 256 cases followed by Western Region with 111 cases, Eastern Region 100 Cases, Western North Region 57 Cases, Volta Region, 41 Cases, Northern Region 31 Cases.
