The Nominees for the 23rd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) have been announced.
The announcement was made by the organizers of the Awards, CharterHouse at the Grand Arena in Accra on Saturday, March 19, 2022.
Among the A-list artists who received nominations for the upcoming awards are rapper Sarkodie, gospel musician Joe Mettle, singers Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Black Sheriff, King Promise, and Yaw Tog.
For the 23rd edition of the coveted award, the Artist of the Year Nominees are: King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Kidi and Joe Mettle.
Songstress MzVee gained nomination for Best Afrobeats Song category for her song titled: ‘Coming Home’ featuring Nigerian songbird Tiwa Savage.
Talented singer Sefa also received nomination in the Best Afrobeats Song Category for her single ‘E Choke’ which enjoyed the services of Mr. Drew.
Kuami Eugene’s hit single ‘Dollar On You’ also powered him to another nomination in the Best Afrobeats Song category, with the song ‘Sugarcane’ giving Camidoh a nomination in the same category.
The reigning VGMA Artist of the Year is gospel musician Diana Hamilton.
