21 Savage Clears Air On Supposedly Tagging Nas As “Irrelevant”

21 Savage may be enjoying a love fest with his ‘Her Loss’ counterpart Drake as the two have landed atop this week’s Billboard 200 with the year’s biggest first-week sales for a Hip-Hop album, but a number of other emcees can’t exactly say they’ve been feeling the love from the Atlanta-reared rapper lately.

Just days after ruffling the feathers of G Herbo, Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, and others by suggesting he’d easily defeat them in a VERZUZ battle; the 30-year-old was quoted on Clubhouse referring to Rap legend Nas as irrelevant sating:

“I don’t feel like he’s relevant. I just feel like he got a loyal fan base. He still makes good music,” he said. When asked about his definition of relevance, the rapper replied, “Mostly connected or appropriate to what’s being done to be considered.”

After unceremonious slams from critics, including fans of Nas, 21 took to Twitter to briefly address the situation, 21 shut down the notion of him disrespecting a veteran like Nas and all those who came before him at the start of this week (November 14) to clarify his divisive comment.

“I would never disrespect Nas or any legend who paved the way for me,” he told his 4.7 million followers on the platform. “Y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it.”
