Former Bollywood star, Ranjit Chowdhry, has reportedly died, aged 64.
The latest actor is well known in America for playing the role Vikram on “The Office.”
Reports say he died in India.
Chowdhry became well known in Indian comedies in the late ’70s and early ’80s before moving to the U.S. for a Hollywood career.
He wrote the screenplay for the 1991 film, “Sam & Me.”
He later became a successful character actor in the ’90s.
According to reports, he was living in New York.
However, he reportedly traveled back to India months ago to receive dental treatment.
Indian theater actor, Dolly Thakore, is reported to have said Mr Chowdhry was supposed to return to America, but couldn’t as a result of the coronavirus shutdown.
He says the late actor suffered a ruptured ulcer in his intestine and underwent emergency surgery, but died Wednesday at a Mumbai hospital.
