Oprah Winfrey Supports America’s Food Fund With $1m

Television talk show host and American media executive, Oprah Winfrey, has contributed some $1 million to America’s Food Fund.
The Fund launched on Thursday, April 2, seeks to help Americans experiencing food shortages due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Actor and environmental activist, Leonardo DiCaprio, Laurene Powell Jobs and Apple, and the Ford Foundation unveiled the Food Fund.
It came with a seed amount of $12 million.
Entertainment portal, Deadline says the initiative will be hosted by social fundraising platform GoFundMe and will benefit World Central Kitchen (WCK) and Feeding America.
The $1 million towards the Fund brings Oprah’s total spendings on food causes to about $10 millions.
Oprah took to her Twitter to comment on the launch of the Fund.
