AKA Calls a Truce on His Beef With Cassper Nyovest. See Why…

November 11, 2017

In a series of tweets shared by South Africa fine boy rapper, AKA a few hours ago, the celebrated rapper appears to be officially over the long years of beef between himself and street credible rapper, Cassper Nyovest. According to AKA, seeing that this is 2017, he is tired of the beef and is reaching out to Cassper for them to headline Cassper’s record breaking annual  concert “Fill Up LNB”. See trending tweets shared by AKA:

On the reason for the sudden change of heart, AKA shared:

Cassper is however yet to respond to AKA’s tweets. You would recall that back in 2015, AKA in a chat with MTV revealed the reason behind he and Cassper’s beef.

AKA
Cassper Nyovest

He shared:

“He was coming up, I think it was around the Gusheshe time, and I’ve always looked out for new artists. We had even started to work on music together. One day I think he had put his video out or something, and the next day he went off about ‘I don’t have the support, no one is really holding me down, and I’m going to put this song out and show everybody.’ I think we kind of fell out, maybe because of things he said on Twitter as people do. I think it really escalated from there because, you know, once the lines were drawn he would say things and I would say things and the people around us would too, and it just gathered steam until the point where it’s been two years.”

AKA adds “Hip hop is all about flexing so it’s no surprise that in an art form based on competition and ego and confidence, that two egos won’t get along. When it comes to Cassper, maybe I’ve become a bit of a victim of my own success, but at the same when it’s time to go head-to-head, I don’t back down. I don’t back down from a challenge. I don’t view it as a distraction. I view it as ‘it is what it is”.

The “Doc Shebeleza” crooner took to Twitter to express how deeply he admires Afrobeats singer; Wizkid and hopes that South African music can travel as globally as Nigerian music has over the years with the influence of Wizkid of course.

In his words “Wizkid inspires me so much man. I know we doin 2 different genres of music bt I dream of a day where SA Hiphop travels the world like that”.

Just saying but, this just might be boosting the already existing beef of “who is the greater artiste” between Wizkid and Davido.

Cassper Calls Reconciliation with AKA a Publicity Stunt

May 8, 2017
Post Image

I am tempted to ask – is there anything celebrities cannot do to pull a publicity stunt?

Cassper released his third album – Thuto over the course of the weekend and made a shocking revelation during his interview with Metro FM’s DJ Fresh at the launch. He revealed that the hug that himself and fellow rapper, AKA shared after his Fill Up Orlando gig which signalled an end to their long standing beef to fans and the media was a calculated PR exercise staged by AKA, and  he just played along.

“I say on the album n***ars ask for forgiveness in public just for thev PR. It was a well calculated move. In the morning I saw the tweets and I already knew what was going on. He wanted to come take picture so everyone could see. I acted stupid but I knew what was going on so I smiled. I let people play whatever they want to play. If you want to be fake, then do it. If it was genuine that we were cool, then we would have still been cool now because I still haven’t done anything wrong. But if you have a bitter heart it will come out, you will tweet these things” said Cassper

Cassper added that he would never work with AKA as it is like making a child together.  So beef season was never over, as always, fans are the media are the audience.
