Well well, isn’t it a thing of joy? What many artistes in the music industry thrive to achieve is what Tanzanian singer, Juma Jux just bagged. It’s been all smiles from the Bongofleva star who just bagged a degree in Computer science from Guangdong University, China.
Definitely in high spirits following this astronomical achievement, Juma Jux who is Vanessa Mdee’s on and off lover has been sharing photos from his graduation ceremony on his social media handles.
What’s more, despite rumors that Vanessa and himself have parted ways, Vanessa appears to be in high spirits as she also took to social media to congratulate her man (that’s if it’s allowed to describe him as that). See her congratulatory message:
“I think we should stop using young people, making them look like old men and women, trying to make them up. The thing is that you can’t cheat nature. You will do everything for them to look like old people, but their voices alone will betray them; what worries me is that everybody wants to play in a kind of drama that will make people laugh only and I ask myself ‘is life all about laughter?’. Life is tall, short, fat, slim, head, toe; such is life. So why would you want people to always laugh?” Legendary screen god, Fred Amugi rhetorically spoke to Doreen Andoh on the Cosmopolitan Mix on Accra-based Joy FM.
The veteran actor was also quick to shower praises on all the directors and producers who give the older folks their roles as well as give the younger folks what they deserve to play. He made it known that no matter how smart or good a younger actor may be, it is inappropriate for that person to execute the role meant for another person. He said that out there in the West, right roles are apportioned to the right people and that has always made their outcomes perfect or close to perfection compared to our end here.
In ending his interview, he said that he believes that the older actors possess certain physiological traits that are necessary for the execution of the older characters that the younger ones do not have, therefore throwing suggestions that producers of stage play put a slice of every aspect of life on stage; the good, the bad and the ugly, in order that everyone would get the chance to relate to the play on all levels – he hinted that the film folks should take a cue.
“We want Ghanaians to know that our coming into the industry is to bring healthy competition in artistes’ promotion. As entertainment industry gains the attention of Africa and the world at large with the likes of Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Samini, Mzvee, Shatta Wale and the likes, it’s imperative that we contribute our quota in aiding budding talents – as well as established talents in reaching the climax of their career.” Ebodili Chijiokwu Simeon, the Chief Executive Officer of Gra Gra Records & Entertainment made this statement to selected entertainment writers in Accra while unveiling his plans to invest into the already booming entertainment industry.
Ebodili who’s popularly known in the entertainment circles as Skolary also made known his plan to sign three established artists to give other record labels a run for their money, as he’s set to redefine how high valued artists are to be treated and nurtured into a world class status. He also reaffirm that part of his record label goals is to reduce the rate at which artists with raw talents are neglected.
“At Gra Gra Records, we are determined to fine tune and position them as a high valued talent, same way Wizkid, John Legend, Becca and the likes were spotted and nurtured by BankyW, Kanye West, Kiki Banson and the likes, respectively.” In their effort to test the waters and strategically position itself in the pool of sharks already in the industry,
Gra Gra Records & Entertainment has – in the last six months – teamed up with King Jay Entertainment in promoting SwagKid, one of Ghana’s promising up and coming artist.
According to MUSIGA led by their able head, Bice Osei Kuffour, the renaissance of live music in Ghana and venues that provide live music increasing by the day, the level of musicianship in the country can only continue to improve and Ghana will sooner than later be adequately represented in the global community of music; thus, they are calling on President of Ghana to ensure that music education is reintroduced at the basic levels of our educational system. This is in view of the immense benefits music education offers to both the individuals and the nation, such as the development of the areas of the brain related to language and reasoning of students as a result of early musical training.
This has created a situation whereby public schools do not teach music education at the basic level and students who are interested have to pick up the subject at Senior High School or University level after the gap in their primary schools.
“The reintroduction of music education at the basic level will provide the necessary training for our talented children which will help them adequately develop their God given talents. It is for this reason that the Union is calling on His Excellency the President to ensure that as a lover of music, this is done during his tenure.” MUSIGA.
